A situation-led sound tool for calling moose
You choose what is happening, or what you want to achieve. Älglock suggests a suitable call, a waiting time if one applies, and the next step.
Coming to the App Store and Google Play
The app cannot be downloaded yet. Downloads always happen through the stores, never from this site.
The app in brief
- Works without a signal
- Every sound is packaged inside the app. Nothing is fetched, and nothing stops working because you walked into a valley.
- Sends nothing anywhere
- The app makes no outbound calls at all. No analytics, no telemetry, no tracking.
- No account
- No sign-in, no subscription and no in-app purchases. You open it and use it.
- No microphone
- The app never asks for microphone access. It plays sound; it does not listen.
- Stays on the phone
- Favourites and settings are stored locally on the device and do not follow you anywhere else.
- iOS and Android
- The same app on both platforms. Swedish is the app's first language.
Two ways to use it
Manual mode
You go straight into the sound library and choose for yourself. Sounds are grouped by animal — cow, bull and calf — and tagged by intensity, length and range.

What the app does not do
Älglock is decision support, not hunting instruction. It makes no claim to know what the moose is doing. You read the situation — the app keeps track of the calls and the steps.
Why the app looks the way it does
Älglock is built to be used, not read. The interface is dark from the outset, because dawn and dusk are when it is used. Touch targets are large enough for gloves, and everything that matters is reachable one-handed — the other hand is probably busy.
There is no mandatory walkthrough, no sign-in and no advertising in the hunting flow. Sounds never start by accident while you navigate; playback takes a deliberate press.
About the sounds
The sound library is built from clearly classified calls, grouped by animal and tagged by intensity, length and range. The ambition is for the calls to be credible and useful in the field. Work to have experienced moose callers review them is under way, and the app will show the status of each sound.
